"First, I want to say what an honour it is to be here today and a huge thank you to Eliana for asking me to post on her wonderful blog about "this year, I am thankful for..." Thank you Eliana!!

Thanksgiving!
Yeah! It's Thanksgiving, my favorite Holiday!!
The weather, the food and most of all my family. They all make me happy.

My mum makes the best Thanksgiving meal, while my sister always makes the  fruit salad with homemade whipped cream....mmmmm and me dancing around the kitchen with a glass of wine in my hand chopping this, mixing that and tasting this and having a wonderful time.

This year I will be missing my favorite Holiday will my family.  Since, I moved to Chicago 7 years ago I have missed quite a few Thanksgivings with my family.  I make it back to visit at Christmas through New Year, but Thanksgiving is hard to get back to spend this amazing day with them. The first year I missed turkey day, my sister messed up the whipped cream for the fruit salad... hehe, she whipped it way to much and made butter! I was always there to tell her it was ready. She blamed me of course, but I knew she was just sad that I wasn't there.  Missing this Holiday with them makes me thankful for having a wonderful family, it makes me realize how amazing my family is and how much they mean to me.

I do get sad not being with them, and this year is no different.  but "this year, I am thankful for my best friend! Trina."  I will be spending my favorite Holiday with her and her wonderful family! She and I have known each other since I moved to Chicago. We are both from the West Coast and have became fast best friends, {missing the sunshine 12 months a year!}  I will be taking my scottish shortbread (her favorite, I will be making an extra little box just for her ssshhh it's a surprise!) and I can't wait to sit at her table and have a wonderful glorious feast eating turkey!!!

So, What are you thankful for this year?

xx
