Once, we got there I instantly fell in love with this city by the sea. The port was gorgeous and the cobblestone roads added a quaint familiarity. All the shops were amazing, and we had a great time meandering about the center of the city. Two noteworthy shopping spots were Helene m. and Rogues Gallery. We stopped off at Gritty McDuff's for a few brews, and took lots of pics:

We went to the highly recommended STREET and CO for dinner, and enjoyed the most amazing dinner for two. Grilled Lobster over Linguine, lightly buttered and so fresh. To our delight their was also squid and mussels! We loved this restaurant -A new fave. Afterwards, we we took in an evening of The Punch Brothers featuring Chris Thile.
Fabulous Show including front row seats courtesy of Lurg! Punch brothers performed some awesome covers of radiohead and new songs off their new album, Antifogmatic, which I am really looking forward slated for June 2010.
Side Note: "Antifogmatic: an alcoholic drink
Antifogmatics were popular in the nineteenth century. They were drinks taken "for medicinal purposes," on the pretext that they protected against the unhealthy effects of fog or other bad weather. Although the term antifogmatic was meant as a joke, people of the time did tend to feel that guzzling plain unadulterated water was bad for your health. (And before water treatment plants, who knows? They may have been right.)"Portland, Maine was delicious! The shopping, the food, the smell of the ocean, the ambience, the people, and most importantly the company. The best part was there was NO RAIN IN SITE, but just in case there happened to be. We were covered!
Did you happen to stop Helene? Fabulous shop
